Since the days the Shieldbashers first met to hunt down a serial killer in the town of Fall Crest, they found themselves battling the forces of Orcus, Prince of Undeath. They hunted the murdering priest, Kalarel, in the Keep on the Shadowfell.
They destroyed the gnoll slavers in Thunderspire Labyrinth, fought free from the Pyramid of Shadows at the edge of the Far Realm, killed the ancient troll king in the lost city of Vardar in the Feywild, and battled drow vampires in the city of Pharvorul deep in the bowels of the underdark. Atop Nightwyrm Fortress in the Shadowfell, the Shieldbashers battled the shadow dragon Urishtar and stopped the twisting of the soulstream, the rightful and powerful path of the dead. They traveled to the ancient vaults of Deaths Reach and faced Orcus’s elite force, the Ashen Covenant, killing their leader, Elder Arantham. They traveled to the Kingdom of the Ghouls and faced Doresain, Orcus’s right hand. They chased the primordial weapon across the Abyss, meeting at the very heart itself. There they discovered Orcus’s sinister plan, to use a shard of the Heart against the Raven Queen and make himself the God of Death. In the Raven Queen’s holiest of temples they fought the ascending Orcus and killed him.
Stepping out of the temple they realized, staring at the chaos ship of Lolth, that their adventures had only just begun.
